Keep in touch
We pride ourselves in being the shop of last resort for people who are looking for accurate, authentic British historical flags. If the banner, pennant, colors of formal flag that you’re looking for is not located in our catalog, let us know.
There’s a contact form here. Describe the banner. If you have a photo that you found on the internet through Google images, share that image because the more materials you can guide us, the easier it would be for us to find authentic flag designs.
With that said, we’re not in any way, shape or form guaranteeing that we would find all flags people come up with. As you probably already know considering how old British culture is and how far back in time British history stretches, there are going to be many small flags in the span of its history.
Britain, after all, went through many different historical changes. We’re not just talking about one royal dynasty sitting on a throne and pretty much everything proceeding smoothly. It didn’t work that way. In fact, there were many pretenders to the throne. Of course we already know about the war of the roses which was so chaotic, so turbulent and so bloody that it actually inspired Game of Thrones.
If you’re a big GoT fan, guess what? A lot of those story lines can be found in real British history. We’re talking about lots of guts, chills, spills, thrills and fidelity sex, betrayal, homosexuality, you name it. A lot of that played out in British history. That’s why it’s so much fun.
As much as we would like to think that purely fictional stories are fun and amazing, there’s nothing like actual history to take any kind of literature to a whole other level. If you need proof of this, just check out Shakespear and his influences. He was not exactly working off a clean slate nor are his plays’ premises all one hundred percent new. The Bard knew, like no one else, the power of history as a catalyzing force for the emotional turbulence and drama of creative works. British history is definitely full of such inspirational material.
We really look at the whole prospect of tracking down obscure British flags, colors, pennants and banners as a sort of game. It’s like a mystery novel. There’s so many different designs out there. Often times in the same geographic area and the same historical period, many flags would be used by the same territory.
This is the kind of stuff that wakes us up in the morning. This is the kind of stuff we live for. Do us all a big favor. If you are looking for a very obscure flag, let us know. Give us a shot. You’d be surprised at the results that we can come up with.
